Is it possible to use the Game Crafter API to integrate the order process with PayPal?
I've been developing a ministry for a while now, and I'd like to make it so that printing & fulfilment processes are done at the same time the customer submits an order.
It would be cool, after payments are processed via PayPal, if the GC system could immediately scrape that data on PayPal and dropship (or blindship) the order straight to the customer.
I would be willing to pay a developer to make this happen, if this is possible.
Before I can provide an answer, I first need to better understand what you're trying to do. So let me lay out what I think you are describing, and you can tell me if any of it is missing or wrong.
1) Customer comes to your site.
2) Customer use some sort of a cart or checkout mechanism on your site.
3) Customer pays through your site via PayPal.
4) After the payment goes through to your PayPal account, it should trigger a purchase on our site.
5) Customer is redirected back to your site, having never seen our site.
6) Our normal production process begins, and the customer receives their game in the mail.
Is that correct?

Uses Paypal cart & payment.
And yes, that purchase has an I.D. that triggers a purchase on your site with the same I.D.
Customer is redirected from paypal cart back to my site.
And yes, normal production and dropshipping/blindshipping.
Fulfillment companies have integration features with various carts and payment services like paypal, and the cool thing about it is that it makes any business scalable and automated.
With a print on demand service like yours, I see this as especially attractive.
Amazon integration would be really awesome with something like this as well.
Otherwise, it would be more ideal to order wholesale some place in large quantity, and then have it shipped to a fulfilment center which already supports this kind of automation and scalability.
But with print on demand we have the option of a large amount of variability, or customization, in the products.
And even though the shipping time is longer because of it, the scalability still makes it really appealing, and definitely an angle I'd like to provide, if possible.
I think you guys should makes these integrated features, honestly, but as long as it's allowed, I might just hire a freelancer to get it done.

Ok then, yes this is totally possible. However, to make it work you'll need to maintain a shop credit balance with us so that when your code triggers a purchase on our site, you have a way to pay us, since you'll be collecting payments through your own mechanism.
That's easier than I was previously thinking.
I was thinking before that I would somehow have a script that made a regular dropshipped purchase through you whenever the order came through.
But if it can work the way you're saying, that's even better.
In a few months, I will contact a freelancer and get a quote.

You say we need to maintain a shop credit balance to collecting payments on our sites but how do we maintain a good balance?
Do we have to buy Gift Certificates or is there a difference option?

If you build your cart from scratch, you can pass variables in an html form to paypal, which will pass them back to your site on CANCEL or PAYMENT COMPLETED, which you can use to do what you want. It's nice that paypal has not changed this feature since I started using it back in 2007. My stuff still works after 8+ years.
