Just a question on this entire thread.... was it started before TGC started taking PayPal themselves?

Just trying to determine why you'd want to take your own PayPal on your site, and then pass it along to TGC, vs. just letting them pay via PP on TGC... unless it is that you have non-TGC items on your site, and you want to combine the purchases in one order on your site... I guess that would still be a use case then.

Which, in that case, the whole "You need to have credits" things doesn't hold up well on TGCs side... unless TGC will hold the order until you have enough Gift Cert. credits in your account to process the order... then you could have an automated process that would send your PP order to TGC to order for sending out to the customer, as well as "ordering" a GC so that there is money to cover it.   If both sides of that were automated, I think the TGC would process it straight up pretty much "on demand", correct?

This was after we started processing PayPal.

I don't know the OP's intent, but a lot of people just want us to build TGC such that they can private label us completely without building any infrastructure on their own site. Unfortunately that "a lot of people" amount, isn't nearly enough to justify the massive development effort on our side, so we'd rather put those dev hours toward features that more people would find useful.

Granted and understood JT....

If someone automated what I said though (when purchasing through "their" website, if they used the API to put in the order to TGC to ship to the customer, AND put in a "purchase" of GC to cover the cost of the order via the API at the same time (assuming the GC purchase is possible via the API), then, there wouldn't be any delay in the order I would assume (since the order got in, and the GC to cover it got in at the same time, more or less)?

You can't purchase gift certificates via the API for the same reason you can't purchase anything else direct via the API. The pass-through of a credit card number would not be PCI compliant. But other than that, you are correct.
