Has anyone actually done game fulfillment through TGC?

Hey everyone! New game designer here. I've been slaving away at my first game I've tested it to death and it's so close to being done design-wise (so excited!!) and now I'm starting to look ahead in terms of selling it. Everyone keeps saying that Kickstarter is way to go, but I'm trying to decide exactly what the best method for doing that is.

I've read on TGC that they offer fulfillment and this definitely seems like the easier and less time consuming (albeit more exepnsive) route to take vs. chasing down manufacturers and then having to deal with tweaking all of my design files all over again for new printers and then having to do all of the ordering and assembling myself.

I've also heard over and over that TGC is really not the best solution for fulfillment for a number of reasons, including price, print quality/consistency, and production and shipping time.

So the question is -- has anyone on this forum actually used TGC for Kickstarter (or other fulfillment?) And if so what was your experience? Did you have problems and complaints from customers who received the final product? Or did everything go really well?

Does anyone know theoretically what would happen if I sold thousands of units? (Hey, I can dream, can't !?? lol.) Would TGC be able to handle that kind of volume? And do they offer any bulk pricing beyond the 100+ units that is listed if I can pre-sell them, or is that the lowest they can go?

I know that even with kickstarter, selling that high of a volume is setting my sights pretty high, but I'm just trying to think ahead for all possibilities. I wouldn't want to shoot myself in the foot by assuming I won't sell a lot, so decide to sell through TGC, then end up selling more than they can even handle printing. I also worry about printing inconsistencies, regardless of how many are printed -- has anyone had trouble with this?

So that's why I'm trying to gauge what their limitations are and if it really is worth it to take the long route and try to do everything myself, or if selling through TGC is actually feasible. Because even at the higher price point, it is so tempting to not have to chase down new printers and manufacturers and have to reformat all of my files again and deal with that whole headache if I don't have to.

I'm open to any advice you have or experience you can share on this topic! I apologize if these are total noob questions but this is all a learning experience for me. So thank you in advance!!

Darn... so no one on this forum has done fulfillment, or knows anyone who has?

Not helping here - but if you look at the dates of a lot of the other posts in the Forums - you can see that questions and replies sometimes are few and far between. Sometimes months and months go by before someone posts something new in a forum. Don't laugh - a couple of months from now someone may answer your question. Frown

You may do better off going to Chat when where is a large number of people on, and asking your question 'live' - it might get more attention from the mods that way, too.
