I have been designing an adventure themed card game with a mechanic based on memory. It is designed for ages 10 and up, but younger players can easily pick this game up with some help from older players. Playtime is 10-20 minutes per game. Number of players is 2-4.
I've been testing it out with family for some time now, but I know that it has to be tested by others. My family is already pretty used to the game and I'm not sure they can provide feedback that isn't unbiased anymore.
I plan to use The Game Crafter print on demand website for distribution, but I have no resource for getting my game playtested.
I'm in a city that doesn't have a very big board gaming community. I'm hoping I can get some people here who are willing to playtest it for me at there homes. I can email the game with a questionnaire and playtesters can print it out.
Below is the opening and goal of the game.
Will you help me out?
TREASURE CREW AND THE HUNT FOR THE GOLDEN MASK
Queen Matisa, ruler of Goregona, boasted she was more beautiful than her goddess. And for this, her face was deformed into a nightmare. In time the queen grew vengeful. Until at last she had a mask forged and into this mask she infused her hatred, her spite and her will to destroy all beauty in the world. Upon her demise, the queen ordered the cursed mask to be quartered and hidden at the far reaches of her realm. And to this day, the cursed mask of Queen Matisa awaits its new host.
You are a team of expert adventurers, but every time you learn of a new treasure you challenge each other to be the first to find it.
The goal of the game is to be the first to find the 4 lost pieces of Queen Matisa's golden mask or be the only adventurer to escape the deadly traps of her ruined kingdom.
50 Game Cards
4 Characters Cards
1 Rules Sheet
Hmmm... you a Dragon Quest fan, by any chance?
I'll gladly playtest it for you, but honestly, I'd rather that you posted it here on TGC than sent it to me in an email. That would take a looooooong time to cut out and it would be costly for my printer ink. Since it's just 54 cards, a document, and a tuck box, it would be under $10 and much better than whatever my crappy printer could pull off. I'll tell you right now that if you upload here to TGC and send me a link, I will buy your game and playtest it. Just so you know, you can publish a game without posting it to the store.
Food for thought.
