I like this forum for the Tarot in Game Crafter, I'm just here to buy a Tarot Deck, I have a Facebook Page where I read the daily card etc... https://www.facebook.com/clayscottbrown/ I'm not a popular entity I can assure you! Still I Wrote a Book Upon the Tarot and still have yet to properly release it, it's 74,000 Original Words with an Actual Oracle of Each Card so the Page on Facebook allows me to get it 'Alive' a little bit... still there is no such hurry as the future is generally a 'slow going one'... I hope that this missive is okay for the Tarot Forum here... It would be indeed nice to hear from other readers and creators of the Tarot Arcana...
Thanks but I've had it on Amazon for a long time but took it off recently... I haven't decided if that's the best platform for it... I do get a unique perspective because I wrote it and no ones ever read it... The Future is in the Eye of the Beholder, so the unique perspective becomes all the more important.
If 'No One Has Ever Read It' tells you anything, it is to ask yourself 'Why?' first. Where are you advertizing it? Do you have a website? A webpage? Facebook? Social Media? Merely relying on 'It's On Amazon' to sell anything is going to get you NOWHERE. Produce a YouTube video about it. Your book/deck/game is never going to sell itself. Send copies to store owners with a web presence and ask them to review it; ask to be interviewed; take out ads (gets expensive) in appropriate mags and emags; contact your local newspapers and learn how to write a press release. Print cheapo business cards (Vistaprint) and carry some with you and leave cards advertizing you and your product ANYWHERE that you can. TELL THEM why your perspective is different from the rest of the herd.
My first book was produced by a 'real' book publisher that did 'nothing' to market it - even though it sold 12,000+ copies - it sold because my publisher was a subsidiary of B & N and they put 2 copies of my book in every B & N all over the world. At it's selling height - I was selling 8 copies a day around the world.
Ask yourself if your product needs a better (fill in the blank). Is it too boring? Is it's title lackluster? Is it's cover art too blah? Does it sound too similar to another product already out there? If you are just another bagel on a tray full of bagels - how do you get the viewer's attention? Sometimes you have to add the lox, cream cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion and capers, or you will just be another bagel lost among the other bagels.
You sell something by convincing buyers that your product is the one they need to be buying - not by waiting for someone to notice it first. Grab them by the balls and their hearts & minds are sure to follow.
Thank you for those words tarotbear...
I'm an Affiliate for Amazon for many years, I know all about selling. I've had many, many websites. But about the book, I recently took it off of Amazon... it was about 9 dollars to buy... I took it off because someone might have noticed it and I had to stay Solo on it, because it's Myself only in there... It's COMPLETE the Tarot Arcana Cards, each one of them are shown for what they are... literally in my book The Tarot Arcana, but please bear with me torot bear, pun intended!
I've been Reading the Fortunes of the Famous and those went very well into the future... and recently I Found a New Formation of the cards involving The Person/Querrent completely, not only is it about the Person but it's about The Person's Money! So there will be no more 'running away' from a reading from one of us!
So you see Bear, I'm not really worried about my Book going anywhere... if for some odd reason someone decides to go to my present locale on The Facebook and say read the Tarot Arcana of Actor Christian Bale and find it amusing or intriguing then I'd say I'd done well... http://bit.ly/2aWzPZu
So if I get some readers someday, Bear, I might be able to 'excite' an audiance for my Book, then I can decide if I want to put it back on Amazon Instant Bookstand... or if I want it Published only in Hardback, Bear... you see a limited edition of say 500 copies of it in Rich Leather and Gold Lettering might be more appropriate for a Hungry and Wealthy Audiance, that might very well pay over $300 for a copy!
It is 74,000 or so Original Words... and only I have known it for many years now... you'd want to read this Bear. You'd wanna see what's in it.
