Not impressed unfortunately

Hello, I ordered another deck of cards to print my game on and I was hoping the upgraded card stock would be the ticket, but I was not impressed.

My order (#69785) was after they announced the upgraded card stock and was to be printed on the new stock. I honestly could not tell the difference. The cards felt rather flimsy, the texture was rough, and it seems the blade on the cutter is not sharp enough as the edges felt frayed. I compared the prints with another company I tried and even the colors were subpar.

I really love TGC for the POD services and allows me to build a prototype really quick and have it sent to me at a reasonable rate for a single deck. I'll continue to use TGC for prototyping, but I don't think I can use them to help publish my game.

Thanks for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. We are always interested to hear from customers/community members.

I'm sorry to hear that you aren't impressed with the new card stock. I verified that your order was printed on the new 305gsm black core. This is the same stock that's used in Magic The Gathering, as well as thousands of other games.

I just returned from Phoenix Comicon and after 4 days of exhibiting for TGC on the gaming floor, we had nothing but positive feedback from attendees that held/shuffled the new cards. We even had a few people who previously refused to use our 270gsm card stock and they admitted that they liked the new 305gsm and would give us another try. Which was neat!

The community at large has been very positive about the new card stock and videos like this (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWL4YA_NnBo) have been coming out.

If you think there is a production issue with your cards then feel free to contact support and provide a variety of photos so they can see what you are referring to. If this is the case then we'll send you replacement cards on us.

Everyone has different perceptions of what good card stock feels like and we understand we can't please everyone. We try our best to though! :)

If you think the colors are subpar compared to another printer then the difference is probably due to the fact that your monitor and their printer are more closely calibrated, so the cards are closer to the colors you expect. If you ask other designers in our community, you'd find that most have made adjustments to colors when printing additional prototypes and that's typically part of the process to get it exactly how they want it.

Sorry for the long reply, but your feedback is important to us and I wanted to provide some context in my reply. I'm pleased to hear you like our service and hope that you'll be pleased with future prototypes from us. Thanks!
