Please, will The Game Crfter remove the ineligble entirees on the Gamehole Con Board Game contest voting list? Many did not follow the guidelines/rules: having all shop elements, having packaging, etc. And verify that all entries fall in the under $29.99 cost requirement. That would lessen the entry list from the 95 it stands at right now. And it would be unfair for folks to cast votes for games that are not enligible. Also there seems to be duplicates of the same game -Hattrick. Thanks! :-)
Thanks for letting us know about the duplicate entries. We have removed them. As far as the other games are concerned, that's not something we do because the judges are aware of the rules and if someone doesn't follow them then they are only hurting their chances of scoring well.
While it's true they are taking up real estate on the contest page, there's never going to be a time in a game designer's life where they aren't competing with hundreds, if not thousands, of competing games around them. So this is very much a real world situation. :)
The community voting stage shows the importance of making a visually appealing game and being able to reach out to the people around you and get them to be interested in your game. Thanks!
Thank's for the answer. I have seen that the duplicates and a couple others have been removed. So I guess my chances are a little better with 90 entries insead of 95 LOL.
Never having enered into a contest before, I am assuming that therre is no way to know who many votes each game has as a running total?
You and the whole TGC team do a great job!
You're welcome. Thanks for the kind words!
There isn't a way to see a running total of votes. However, I did want to mention that the number of entries shouldn't really be the thing you're focused on. Instead, you should be reaching out to people on social media, talking to people in TGC chat about your game, etc.. The key is to be active in promoting your game in this stage. :)
